The Adam Benjamin Goldfarb Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Adam Benjamin Goldfarb (1993–2025)—a fearless thinker, gifted lawyer, and a champion for lifting others around him, whose sharp mind, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty inspired everyone who knew him.
A Riverwood High School (Sandy Springs, GA) graduate, Adam earned his law degree with honors from Durham University in the UK and built a distinguished legal career in London, England. He was known for exploring every side of an argument—not just to win, but to understand—and for mentoring and encouraging others to find clarity in their own ideas.
Adam believed that rigorous thinking, open dialogue, and the courage to challenge assumptions could open minds and strengthen civic life. He often argued a point to test an idea, spark curiosity, and sometimes just for the joy of a spirited exchange.
This annual award is for high school students (grades 9–12) who share Adam’s love of debate, intellectual curiosity, and generosity of spirit. It celebrates young voices with the courage to challenge ideas, broaden perspectives, and keep his spirit alive in the world.
Special thanks to the Barkley Forum for Debate, Deliberation, and Dialogue, and the Center for Civic and Community Engagement at Emory University for their partnership in administering this scholarship.
